Limited Vertical Release
2011, 2012, 2013 Petite Sirah
Autry Cellars is proud to share a limited vertical release of our 2011, 2012, and 2013 Petite Sirah. Grown in the Anderson Vineyard in the El Pomar region of Paso Robles, this release is an excellent way to discover how each season affects the taste of the wine while retaining the core essential flavors of the Petite Sirah grape.
Initially cultivated in France, about 10,000 acres grow in California, making it a hard-to-find grape. Petite refers to the small, tight clusters, while the Sirah comes from the Syrah varietal. The taste profile is high in fruit and extensive in the body, with perfectly balanced tannins.
This dark and dangerous wine has black cherry, cola, tobacco, and leather aromas. The assertive tannins are well balanced with acidity, supporting a rich early middle with notes of plum black currant and a hint of black pepper. There is a light indication of dark chocolate-covered cherries that leads to a soft finish of vanilla sweetness.
This wine pairs well with beef, game, hearty stews, Italian cuisine, or other big spicy foods.
Our 2013 won Double Gold – 94 points at the 2019 Toast of the Coast in San Diego.
We only have two library verticals for sale, so get yours today. You can purchase them here on our secure website or at the tasting room.
